Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, also referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item scales with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to boost the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level. A lot of items can be reforged in order to increase their stats.
You can purchase upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout the world as well as rewards for missions. They can also be crafted by players. Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens permit players to change the affixes of their weapons and equipment and can be found through a variety of methods like mistery boxes, as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants players a new random affix, which is typically better than the original one. Reroll tokens are also a great option to reroll stats on weapons that can be upgraded to provide better damage or additional perks.
Items that have been rerolled do not appear in the item upgrade menu, however, they still qualify to receive upgrades. These rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its level gauge. This amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.

Leveling
There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first method of leveling up an upgrade to an item is to increase the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of upgrading any stat. The second is to increase the effect of an upgrade which increases the damage or heal of a specific stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. Once this is done, the new item will maintain its iLevel however it will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.
When upgrading your items, it is important to remember that upgrades aren't always planned. In most cases, a better roll will come from the glyphs, however there are also possibilities for greater or special rolls. The type of the item will determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique item type, it is likely to getting a higher level.
Upgrades can be costly, especially if you are upgrading equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The price will be based on the item's iLevel base and the number of upgrade levels it offers. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to reach the next level.
If you're lucky the upgraded item will be at the highest level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional bonus effect. This will provide the item with a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect will change with each upgrade level, though. Generally speaking the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.
The iLevel will also change according to the upgrade path and its base level. For example an item that has been upgraded from a unique or rare to an exceptional item will have a chance to get the Enhanced Defense of the base item type.
